Today, WhatsApp began rolling out its latest update for Android devices, version 2.25.1.75. This update introduces support for the Emoji 16.0 recommendations and revised a single flag emoji's design.
Today, WhatsApp began rolling out its latest update for Android devices, version 2.25.1.75. This update introduces support for the Emoji 16.0 recommendations and revised a single flag emoji's design.
🆕 New & Updated Emojis
The following eight new emojis have been added in this release:
- Face with Bags Under Eyes
- Fingerprint
- Splatter
- Root Vegetable
- Leafless Tree
- Harp
- Shovel
- 🇨🇶 Flag: Sark
Additionally, this update modified the 🇲🇶 Flag of Martinique emoji's design.
The previous design, featuring a white cross on a blue field with four snakes, has been updated to the newer Ipséité flag, which the French overseas department adopted in February 2023.
📶 Release
The new emojis from 2024's Emoji 16.0 are now available for Android users when the app updates to WhatsApp 2.25.1.75 or above.
Users of iOS devices will continue to see native Apple emoji designs which are provided by the operating system.
