Emojis Across The World: World Emoji Day 2022 📆📺

The ninth annual World Emoji Day is just nine days away, as part of our global hosting duties Emojipedia will be debut a series of interview-focused videos exploring emojis from several different angles, together titled "Emojis Across The World".

These videos, the first of which will debut on Emojipedia's YouTube channel ahead of World Emoji Day on July 17, will feature contributions from a variety of emoji experts and afficinados from across the globe.

In alphabetical order, our contributing experts and afficinados are:

	👈🤳 Agnese Sampietro PhD is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Jaume I University. From Italy, she lives in Spain though is presently on a research stay at the University of Münster in Germany. She has published academic papers on emoji-based humor 😂🤣 and cultural differences in kissing emoji use 😙😘😽
	👈🤳 Alex King PhD is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Simon Fraser University. From the United States, she resides in Canada and is the Editor-in-Chief of Aesthetics for Birds (AFB), a platform for dicussions on aesthetics and philosophy of art ✨🖼️
	👈🤳 Dr Alexander Robertson is an emoji researcher who recently completed a doctoral programme in University of Edinburgh UK which focused on emoji skin tone modifiers as an expression of identity on Twitter ✋🏼✋🏽✋🏿
	👈🤳 Alfredo Perez is the creator of the Sandstorm Meme Maker app, available for Android devices via the Google Play Store. From Spain, he lives in Norway 🏜️🌪️📲
	👈🤳 Daniel Hånberg Alonso is a Swedish emoji expert and author of “Emoji - En historia om känslor, bajs och ett gult leende” ("Emoji - A story about emotions, poop and a yellow smile") 💞💩😃
	👈🤳 Don Caldwell is the Editor In Chief of Know Your Meme, the internet meme database. He is from the United States 🅱️🐸🚩
	👈🤳 Gero Simone is a German radio DJ for 1LIVE, where he hosts a regular "Emoji News" segment 🪩🎙️🎶
	👈🤳 Jane Solomon is Emojipedia's Senior Emoji Lexicographer and author of the children's book “The Dictionary of Difficult Words” 🔍📝📚
	👈🤳 Jenny 8. Lee is a co-founder of EmojiNation, a producer of The Emoji Story documentary, and co-author of the upcoming “The Hanmoji Handbook: Your Guide to the Chinese Language Through Emoji” 🥟🎥📖
	👈🤳 Lilian Stolk is an emoji expert from the Netherlands. She is the director of The Hmm, a platform for internet culture discourse, and author of “Het Zonder Woorden-Boek” (“The No Words Book” 🦤🐻‍❄️🥎
	👈🤳 Louan Bengmah is the creator of the Emoji Mash-Up bot on Twitter. He is from Nantes, France 🤠😔🤡
	👈🤳 Melissa Thermidor is a Senior Internet Advertising and Media Specialist, a Programme Director for The Open University, and a frequent emoji proposal writer with EmojiNation. She is from Brooklyn and now lives in London 🫀🩸🩺
	👈🤳 Neil Cohen PhD is Associate Professor at the center for Cognition and Communication at Tilburg University. From the United States, he lives in the Netherlands and is the author of “The Visual Language of Comics” and “Who Understands Comics?” 🫠🫥😮‍💨
	👈🤳 Philip Seargeant PhD is Lecturer in Applied Linguistics in the Centre for Language and Communication at The Open University, UK. He is the author of “The Emoji Revolution” 🔡💬🤔
	👈🤳 Sanjaya Wijeratne PhD is an emoji researcher and co-founder of the International Workshop on Emoji Understanding and Applications in Social Media. From Sri Lanka, he lives in the United States 💻🔬📲
	👈🤳 Dr Sarah Wiseman is a researcher of Human Computer Interaction that has a specialization in emoji repurposing. She resides in the United Kingdom 🎏🍕🐧
