On the same day that Unicode 17.0 and Emoji 17.0 were formally approved, Google unveiled its designs for the latest set of new emojis within its Noto Color Emoji and Noto Emoji sets.

The new emojis added in this update include:

Additionally, this Google emoji design update contains support for a series of skin tone sequences for the existing πŸ‘― People With Bunny Ears and πŸ€Ό People Wrestling.

These new emojis have been uploaded to the Noto Color Emoji's Google Fonts page, as well as the page of their minimalistic companion font, Noto Emoji.

Note that the Noto Emoji font does not feature any distinct designs for the emoji skin tone sequences for the new πŸ§‘β€πŸ©° Ballet Dancer skin tone sequences, or the additional πŸ‘― People With Bunny Ears,  or 🀼 People Wrestling sequences.

However, the πŸ‘― People With Bunny Ears design within the Noto Emoji font now displays two people instead of one, making it more coherent with other vendor sets.

Additionally, several hundred emoji designs were revised in the Google Noto Color emoji update, mostly in the name of closer design convergence with other vendors' designs. You can see all the emojis that were changed in this update here.

πŸ’» Release

As discussed above, these new emoji designs for Emoji 17.0 have been released via Google's Noto Color Emoji font page, meaning they are likely considered final and almost certainly not undergo further revisions before release.

These new emojis are expected to be released progressively across different Google platforms such as Chrome OS, Gmail, YouTube, and various Android devices throughout 2026.

At the time of writing, they have yet to be uploaded to Google's Noto Color Emoji GitHub page or their Gstatic servers, though they are expected to do so in the near future.
